the pod, nottingham

Located close to Nottingham's tramline and the aspirational retail pitch at Bridlesmith Gate, The Pod is a prime example of a mixed used city centre development.
The current tenants cover a broad spectrum of sectors including a hotel/hospitality, retail and financial services. There are new lets agreed and in the pipeline. These will add to the diversity and mix of tenants already based at The Pod, who include Accor, Tesco and TDX.

The building was designed and constructed using a range of modern techniques and stands out amongst the other large developments in Nottingham as a striking modernist building. From its position at the top of Fletcher gate the building is an easily recognisable land mark on the Nottingham skyline.

The building is currently undergoing a programme of refurbishment and alteration works to the ground and lower ground floors. Some of the newly created space will be filled by an existing tenant who have outgrown their original demise. Some of the space is being let to a national retail chain as their Nottingham branch. The remainder of the space will be offered to the high end office market.

The project's design was procured by way of a design competition and the scheme has received a number of nominations including those from Evening Post Commercial Property Awards, Property Week's Midlands Property Awards and The Lord Mayor's Awards.

The final part of the development, the 19,000 square foot office space, was completed in December 2012, and was awarded the BCO regional (Midlands and East Anglia) Award for Innovation, and was nominated for the national award ceremony in October 2013.
